The exhibition “Vườn Mộng Ảo” (Fantasy Garden) showcases Mai Đại Lưu’s deeply instinctive and emotionally driven artistic practice. Disregarding rigid academic structures, Lưu creates from a place of innate intuition—evoking feelings that transcend the limits of language. His work transforms into a space where the inner self is manifested through visual language. As philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson once stated, a person achieves wholeness not only through thought but also through expression—and his art fully actualizes that very idea.

“For me, art is not beauty, but expression.”

Mai Đại Lưu’s ‘ fantasy garden is a dream realm, not a real-world place, shaped by his profound inspirations. The lingering sound of Catholic church bells from his memory and soul, which became a sacred compass, particularly guided his contemplations on religion and spiritual life, informing this ethereal creation.
